Choose Joy J esus First O thers Second Y ourself Last Sometimes life happens and we are tempted to give in to despair and sadness. It is in these times, we need to make a conscious choice, Choose Joy!
Choose Jesus, our Saviour, and the promises he has given us. ● “Then Jesus said to His disciples, ‘If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.’ ” Matthew 16:24 ● “In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” John 14:2-3 ● “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4
Choose Others, remember to love as Jesus loved. ● “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13: 34-35 ● “But I say to you who hear, love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. Whoever hits you on the cheek, offer him the other also; and whoever takes away your coat, do not withhold your shirt from him either . Give to everyone who asks of you, and whoever takes away what is yours, do not demand it back. Treat others the same way you want them to treat you. Luke 6: 27-31
Choose Yourself Last, follow the example of Christ. ● “But Jesus called them to Himself and said, ‘You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great men exercise authority over them. It is not this way among you, but whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be your slave. Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.’ ” Matthew 20: 25-28
We as Christians above all people should live our lives full of joy. Don’t let Satan and the trials of this world steal it. Choose Joy! ~~Debbie Lively~~
